Text
(1)In
carrying out the duties specified in section 22-32-109 (1)(t), on and after July 1, 1990,
each board of education is required to formally adopt a policy concerning the
delivery of all educational programs and courses of instruction or study that expose
pupils to any psychiatric or psychological methods or procedures involving the
diagnosis, assessment, or treatment of any behavioral or mental health disorder.
(2)Prior to taking action pursuant to subsection (1) of this section, a board of
education shall provide an adequate opportunity to allow review by and receive
recommendations from members of the board, the personnel of the school district,
the parents of pupils enrolled in the school district, and members of the public.
