Text
(1)There is created within the
department the office of facility schools. The head of the office is the director of
facility schools and is appointed by the commissioner of education in accordance
with section 13 of article XII of the state constitution.
(2)The office of facility schools and the office of the director of facility
schools exercise their powers and perform their duties and functions under the
department, the commissioner of education, and the state board of education. The
office of facility schools and the office of the director of facility schools are type 2 entities, as defined in section 24-1-105.
