§ 22-2-102 — Definitions
As used in this part 1, unless the context otherwise requires:
(1)Commissioner of education or commissioner means the office of the
commissioner of education created and existing pursuant to section 1 of article IX
of the state constitution.
(2)Department of education or department means the department of
education created and existing pursuant to section 24-1-115, C.R.S.
(3)Nonpublic school means a school organized and maintained by a
recognized religious or independent association performing an academic function.
(4)Public school means a school maintained and operated by a school
district.
(4.5) Pupil enrollment count day has the same meaning as set forth in
section 22-54-103 (10.5).
(5)State board of education or state board means the state board of
education created
