(1)[ Editor's note: For the applicability of
this subsection (1) on or after January 1, 2026, see the editor's note following this
section. ] Any county clerk and recorder required to conduct a recount shall arrange
for the canvass board who officiated in certifying the official abstract of votes cast
to observe the conduct of the recount. If any member of the canvass board cannot
be present for the recount, another person shall be appointed in the manner
provided by law for appointment of the members of the original board.

recorder conducting a recount shall employ assistants, clerks, and election judges
as necessary f
