Text
(1)The secretary of state shall establish and
operate or provide by contract a certification program for local election officials on
the conduct of elections, the federal Help America Vote Act of 2002, 52 U.S.C.
20901 et seq., and other topics related to elections.
(2)The secretary of state shall establish by rule a curriculum for the
certification program, including core requirements and electives, the required
number of hours, and methods for continuing education.
(3)The secretary of state shall provide staffing and support services for the
certification program.
(4)The secretary of state shall appoint an advisory board to oversee the
certification process and the development of the curriculum.
