(a)If it is necessary that provision be made for the expense of support and maintenance of a dependent child of the juvenile court or of a minor person concerning whom a petition has been filed to declare the person a dependent child of the juvenile court in accordance with this chapter, the order providing for the care and custody of the dependent child or other minor person shall direct that the whole expense of support and maintenance of the dependent child or other minor person, up to the amount of twenty dollars ($20) per month, be paid from the county treasury and may direct that an amount up to any maximum amount per month established by the board of supervisors of the county be paid.
