(a)
This article shall be known, and may be cited, as the Medi-Cal Provider Payment Increases and Investments (PPI) Act.
(b)
The implementation of the act, as set forth in this article and the PPI Terms and Conditions, shall support all of the following goals:
(1)
Improve access to high-quality care for Medi-Cal members, especially in underserved areas.
(2)
Promote provider participation in the Medi-Cal program.
(3)
Strengthen the Medi-Cal program’s foundation through reimbursement methodologies that are more competitive with other payors and, where
applicable, allow for periodic adjustments to keep pace with health care cost inflation.
