The Secretary of the Resources Agency shall consult with appropriate federal agencies to assess the desirability, feasibility, and costs of modifying the flood control project described in Section 12684.2, in accordance with Section 2309a of Title 33 of the United States Code or other relevant law, to include multipurpose features designed to maximize river habitat restoration, parkland, and recreational opportunities consistent with flood control objectives. The secretary shall prepare and submit a report to the Legislature, not later than March 1, 2001,
concerning the results of the consultation.
