(a)As used in this chapter, a traffic assistance program (TAP) is a public or private nonprofit agency that provides services, under contract with a court to process traffic violators or under contract with the department to assist in oversight activities.
(b)A court may use a TAP to assist the court in performing services related to the processing of traffic violators. As used in this section, “services” means those services relating to the processing of traffic infraction cases at, and for, the court, including printing and providing to the court and traffic violators hard copy county-specific lists printed from the department’s Internet Web site, administratively assisting traffic violators, and any other lawful activity relating to the administration of the court’s traffic infraction
