(a)
(1)The local supervising agency, in coordination with the sheriff or local correctional administrator, may require any person that is to be released from county jail or a local correctional facility into postrelease community supervision to report to a supervising agent or designated local supervising agency within two days of release from the county jail or local correction facility.
(2)This section shall not prohibit the local supervising agency from requiring any person released on postrelease community supervision to report to his or her assigned supervising agent within a time period that is less than two days from the time of release.
