(a)Any company licensed to write insurance in this state that has determined, after the completion of the insurer’s special investigative unit investigation, that it reasonably suspects or knows an act of insurance fraud may have occurred or might be occurring shall, within 60 days after that determination by the insurer, send to the Fraud Division, on a form prescribed by the department, the information requested by the form and any additional information relative to the factual circumstances regarding the alleged insurance fraud and person or entity that may have committed or is committing insurance fraud, as specified in Section 2698.38 of Title 10 of the California Code of Regulations.
