(a)The fee required pursuant to Section 1616 for the calendar year commencing January 1, 1992, and for each fiscal year thereafter unless adjusted pursuant to subdivision (b), shall not exceed the following: One thousand five hundred dollars ($1,500) for a blood bank and no more than one blood collection center operated at the same location as the blood bank. In addition and irrespective of the location of the blood collection center, a fee of five hundred dollars ($500) for each additional blood collection center operated by the blood bank up to a maximum of one thousand five hundred dollars ($1,500) for three or more blood collection centers.
