(a)Any contrary provisions of Section 9359.1 or Section 9360.9 notwithstanding, and subject to the further limitations in subdivision (b), the retirement allowance of any member of the Legislators’ Retirement System who serves as a legislator during or after the term commencing in 1967 shall be the sum of:
(1)the amount determined by application of the formula provided by Section 9359.1 to the first five hundred dollars ($500) per month of salary payable to the legislator at the time of his or her retirement, plus (2) an amount equal to 3 percent of the amount of such salary in excess of five hundred dollars ($500) per month multiplied by the number of years credited the member, or two-thirds of the amount of such salary payable to the legislator at the time of his or her retirement, wh
