(a)The board shall appoint an inspector general to a renewable term of office of four years. The inspector general shall be removed from office by a two-thirds vote of the members of the board if the board determines that the inspector general has violated a federal or state law or regulation, a local ordinance, or a policy or practice of the agency, relative to ethical practices, including, but not limited to, acceptance of gifts or contributions.
(b)The inspector general shall, at a noticed public hearing of the agency, report quarterly on the expenditures of the agency for travel, meals and refreshments, private club dues, membership fees and other charges, and any other expenditures specified by the agency.
