Text
Employees of the Legislature are exempt from civil service under the California Constitution. A memorandum of understanding entered into between an employer and a recognized employee organization shall not prohibit the employer from separating an employee if the Member of the Legislature to whom the employee is assigned is not reelected, resigns, or otherwise departs from the employer. The employer shall provide a transition period for an employee if the Member of the Legislature to whom the employee is assigned is not reelected, resigns, or otherwise departs from the employer.
