Text

Notwithstanding Section 31781, the death benefit of a member covered under Section 31751 shall consist of:
(a)
The member’s accumulated contributions.
(b)
A lump sum of two thousand dollars ($2,000) offset by any lump-sum death payment made under the federal Social Security Act.
