(a)The commission shall establish a list of authorized subjects for the designated subjects preliminary career technical education teaching credential issued pursuant to Section 44260. The list shall reflect the 15 industry sectors identified in the California career technical education model curriculum standards adopted by the state board. The commission also shall ensure that each designated subjects professional clear credential issued is consistent with the list of authorized subjects used for the preliminary credential. The commission shall implement the authorized subjects list by September 30, 2007.

The commission shall convene an advisory committee to review credential requirements for designated subjects career technical education teaching credentials and make recommendations for consolidating requirements for full-time and part-time service. It is the intent of the Legislature that the commission focus on streamlining the credential structure by identifying the essential skills needed for successful career technical instruction.
(2)
By April 1, 2008, the commission shall make recommendations to the Legislature on the minimum requirements for designated subjects career technical education teaching credentials.
