Text
(a)Support rights assigned to the Department of Human Services under § 9-14-109 shall constitute an obligation owed to the State of Arkansas by the person responsible for providing the support, and the obligation shall be collectible under all legal processes.
(b)The amount of obligation owed to the state shall be the amount specified in a court order that covers the assigned rights or, when no court order exists, the amount of obligation owed to the state shall be the amount determined by a court based upon the parent's or parents' income or ability to pay during the period of assignment as applied to the Arkansas child support guidelines and family support chart.
