Text

It is the intent of this subchapter:

(1)To enhance the safety of the public highways, roads, and streets and to safeguard the health, comfort, and convenience of motorists by restricting hazardous, distracting, and confusing devices along and immediately adjacent to the roadway; and (2) To prohibit in particular the use of all oscillating, rotating, or flashing lights or devices of the type of, or which simulate or give the impression of being, an emergency vehicle, such as a police vehicle, fire truck, or ambulance, within a distance of two hundred feet (200') of a state highway, which is not involved in the regulation and operation of the traffic thereon in accordance with recognized and approved traffic engineering principles.
