Text
(a)The owner of or person having a lien or encumbrance upon a motorboat that has been stolen or embezzled may notify the Office of Motor Vehicle of the theft or embezzlement, but in the event of an embezzlement, may make a report only after having procured the issuance of a warrant for the arrest of the person charged with the embezzlement.
(b)Every owner or other person who has given any such notice shall notify the Office of Motor Vehicle of a recovery of the motorboat.
(c)The Office of Motor Vehicle upon receiving a report of a stolen or embezzled motorboat as provided in subsection (a) of this section shall file and appropriately index the report, shall immediately suspend the certificate of number or title of the stolen or embezzled motorboat, and shall not transfer the certificate
