Text

(a)In addition to the penalty prescribed in § 27-66-503 , the person convicted of violation of §§ 27-66-501 - 27-66-504 , or of the orders of classifications of the State Highway Commission shall be liable in a civil action for all damage occasioned or caused by such violation. However, as to a special trip for the movement of some particular thing or vehicle from one (1) location to another, the fine or penalty provided in § 27-66-503 shall not apply, but that person shall be civilly liable to the proper county or road improvement district for all damages which he may occasion to the public highway over which such movement is made.
