Text

As used in this subchapter:

(1)"Emergency" means a situation in which a person is in need of assistance from any of the following:
(A)Law enforcement personnel;
(B)Fire department personnel;
(C)Public safety personnel;
(D)Emergency medical personnel; or (E) A 911 public safety communications center;
(2)"Serious physical injury" means physical injury that:
(A)Creates a substantial risk of death; or (B) Causes protracted disfigurement, protracted impairment of health, or loss or protracted impairment of the function of any bodily member or organ;
(3)"Texting" means reading from or manually entering data into a wireless telecommunications device, including doing so for the purpose of short message service texting, emailing, instant messaging, or engaging in another form of electronic
