Text

(a)The Secretary of the Department of Finance and Administration is authorized to promulgate rules providing for payment by credit card of any fees or taxes due upon the issuance or renewal of a vehicle registration, except a vehicle registration issued or renewed under the provisions of § 27-14-601(a)(3)(B) -
(H)or the provisions of § 27-14-601(a)(3)(I)(i) (a)(2)-
(4). The secretary may allow the payment of these fees or taxes by credit card if the secretary determines that payment by credit card would facilitate the administration of the motor vehicle registration program.
(b)The secretary is authorized to enter into contracts with credit card companies and to pay fees normally charged by those companies for allowing the use of their credit cards as authorized by this section.
