§ 16-93-1402 — Notice to community supervision officer

(a)The purpose of this subchapter is to provide community supervision officers with information so they can make informed programming decisions and direct offenders to autoimmune deficiency syndrome-related resources, including appropriate financial, housing, legal, medical, and counseling services.
(b)Upon the release of an offender from a correctional institution, a medical representative of the correctional institution shall notify the offender's community supervision officer when the offender has tested positive for infection with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), or has been diagnosed as having acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) or acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS)-related conditions.
