Any duty enjoined by this code upon a ministerial officer and any act permitted to be done by him or her may be performed by his or her lawful deputy. Civil Code, § 781, C. & M. Dig., § 9754; Pope's Dig., § 13280; A.S.A. 1947, § 27-132.
