Text
The Governor, upon application made to him or her in writing on behalf of the United States for that purpose, accompanied by the proper evidence of title in the United States describing the lands, is authorized on the part of the state, by patent to be recorded in the office of the Secretary of State, to cede to the United States such jurisdiction as he or she may deem wise over such lands, to hold, to use, and occupy the same for the purposes of the cession and none other.
