§ 15-10-74 — Arrest Powers of Peace Officer in Fresh Pursuit
(a)This section shall be known as the Alabama Fresh Pursuit Act.
(b)“Fresh pursuit” as used in this section does not necessarily mean instant pursuit but it does mean pursuit without unreasonable delay.
(c)The authority of any peace officer of this state whose arrest powers are otherwise limited to a political subdivision or subdivisions of this state, shall extend throughout the county and into any adjacent county when the officer is in fresh pursuit of a person or persons to be arrested for a misdemeanor. Such authority shall extend throughout the state when the officer is in fresh pursuit of a person or persons to be arrested for a felony. Following such pursuit, the arrest powers of the officer in a political subdivision or subdivisions other than his own shall be the same in all re
