Opinion

ALMOND, Judge.

This is an appeal from the decision of the Patent Office Board of Appeals affirming the rejection of claims 30, 31, 34, 35, 39, 44, 45, 47-50 and 52-57 of appellant’s application1 entitled “Method and Apparatus for Making Fibers.” We affirm in part and reverse in part.

Appellant’s invention relates to an apparatus for making crystalline fibers from materials such as silica, aluminum oxide and carbon. Figure 1 of the application is reproduced below:
