Text
Subject to legislative appropriation, a division superintendent
may, in cases of emergency, employ suitable assistants to aid a
water commissioner in the discharge of his duties. Assistants
shall take the same oath as the water commissioner, shall obey
his instructions, and each shall be compensated in an amount
approved by the superintendent. The term of service of assistant
commissioners may be terminated at any time by the water
commissioner or the division superintendent, and shall in no
event continue after the emergency has ceased to exist.
