Text
(a)The state of Wyoming through the department shall
purchase a comprehensive professional liability policy providing
coverage for all peace officers if:
(i)Coverage is available at a reasonable cost; and
(ii)It is economically more feasible to provide
coverage through the purchase of insurance than through self-
insurance as provided by W.S. 1-41-101 through 1-41-111.
(b)The limits of the policy shall be no less than the
present limits of liability insurance purchased by the state for
state law enforcement officers. The policy may provide for a
deductible or a retention up to ten thousand dollars
($10,000.00) which is the responsibility of the governmental
entity employing the peace officer for whom the claim was paid.
(c)For the purposes of this section, "peace officer"
