§ 5-10-2 — Definitions

West Virginia·Ch. 5 GENERAL POWERS AND AUTHORITY OF THE GOVERNOR, SECRETARY OF STATE AND ATTORNEY GENERAL; BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS; MISCELLANEOUS AGENCIES, COMMISSIONS, OFFICES, PROGRAMS, ETC·Art. 10 WEST VIRGINIA PUBLIC EMPLOYEES RETIREMENT ACT

Unless a different meaning is clearly indicated by the context, the following words and phrases as used in this article have the following meanings:

(1)"Accumulated contributions" means the sum of all amounts deducted from the compensations of a member and credited to his or her individual account in the members’ deposit fund, together with regular interest on the contributions;
(2)"Accumulated net benefit" means the aggregate amount of all benefits paid to or on behalf of a retired member;
(3)"Actuarial equivalent" means a benefit of equal value computed upon the basis of a mortality table and regular interest adopted by the board of trustees from time to time: Provided, That when used in the context of compliance with the federal maximum benefit requirements of Section 415 of the I
