§ 17-16F-6 — Advisory Boards

(a)The division may convene advisory boards composed of members with subject-matter expertise and experience in the various modes of transportation under the purview of the division.

(b)Any such advisory board may advise the division on issues and assist the division as requested.

(c)The Secretary of the Department of Transportation shall be the chairperson of any such advisory board: Provided, That the secretary may appoint a designee to act in his or her stead at meetings.

(d)The Secretary of the Department of Transportation shall not receive any compensation for serving as chairperson. Any appointed members of a board shall receive the same compensation and expense reimbursement as is paid to members of the Legislature for their interim duties as recommended by the citizens legis

All compensation and expenses incurred shall be payable from funds applicable to the advisory board from the corresponding section within the division or from funds appropriated for such purpose by the Legislature and no liability or obligation shall be incurred by the section beyond the extent to which moneys are available from funds of the section or from such appropriations.
