448.78(1m) (1m) Certificate. The affiliated credentialing board shall grant a certificate as a dietitian to an individual who does all of the following:
448.78(1m)(a) (a) Submits an application for the certificate to the department on a form provided by the department.
448.78(1m)(b) (b) Pays the fee specified in s. 440.05 (1) .
448.78(1m)(c) (c) Submits evidence satisfactory to the affiliated credentialing board that he or she has done any of the following:

1.Received a bachelor’s, master’s or doctoral degree in human nutrition, nutrition education, food and nutrition, dietetics or food systems management from a program at a college or university that is regionally accredited, as determined by the affiliated credentialing board, and that is located in a state or ter

448.78(1m)(c)2. 2. Received a bachelor’s, master’s or doctoral degree in human nutrition, nutrition education, food and nutrition, dietetics or food systems management from a program at a college or university that is not located in a state or territory of the United States if the affiliated credentialing board determines that the program is substantially equivalent to a program under subd. 1.
448.78(1m)(c)3. 3. Received a degree from or otherwise successfully completed a program in human nutrition, nutrition education, food and nutrition, dietetics or food systems management that is approved by the affiliated credentialing board.
448.78(1m)(d) (d) Submits evidence satisfactory to the affiliated credentialing board that he or she has completed at least 900 hours of dietetics practice in any state or territory of the United States under the supervision of any of the following:
448.78(1m)(d)1. 1. A certified dietitian.
448.78(1m)(d)2. 2. An individual who is registered as a dietitian with the commission on dietetic registration of the American Dietetic Association.
448.78(1m)(d)3. 3. An individual who received a doctoral degree in human nutrition, nutrition education, food and nutrition, dietetics or food systems management from any of the following:
448.78(1m)(d)4. 4. The internship program under s. 253.065 .
448.78(1m)(e) (e) Passes the registration examination for dietitians established by the commission on dietetic registration of the American dietetic association, or passes an equivalent examination approved by the affiliated credentialing board, and held under s. 448.84 , to determine fitness to practice dietetics.
448.78(1m)(f) (f) Subject to ss. 111.321 , 111.322 , and 111.335 , submits evidence satisfactory to the affiliated credentialing board that he or she does not have a conviction record.
448.78(2m) (2m) License based on compact privilege. The affiliated credentialing board shall grant a certificate as a dietitian to any individual who does all of the following:
448.78(2m)(a) (a) Submits an application for the certificate to the department on a form provided by the department.
448.78(2m)(b) (b) Pays the fee specified in s. 440.05 (1) .
448.78(2m)(c) (c) Submits evidence satisfactory to the affiliated credentialing board that he or she holds a home state license in another state that is a party to the compact, has changed his or her primary state of residence to this state, and satisfies all other requirements under s. 448.9887 (5) .
448.78(2m)(d) (d) Subject to ss. 111.321 , 111.322 , and 111.335 , submits evidence satisfactory to the affiliated credentialing board that he or she does not have a conviction record.
448.78(3m) (3m) Compact privilege. The affiliated credentialing board shall grant a compact privilege to an individual who does all of the following:
448.78(3m)(a) (a) Submits an application for the compact privilege to the department on a form provided by the department.
448.78(3m)(b) (b) Submits evidence satisfactory to the affiliated credentialing board that he or she holds an unencumbered home state license in another state that is a party to the compact and satisfies all other requirements under s. 448.9887 (4) .
448.78(3m)(c) (c) Pays any fee established by the department under s. 448.9888 (2) .
448.78(4m) (4m) Types of certificate. A certificate as a dietitian granted under sub. (1m) may be either of the following:
448.78(4m)(a) (a) A certificate that, subject to s. 448.9887 (4) , entitles the holder to obtain and exercise a compact privilege in other states that are parties to the compact.
448.78(4m)(b) (b) A single-state certificate, which entitles the holder to practice only in this state. Nothing in the compact applies to the holder of a single-state certificate unless otherwise applicable under this subchapter.
