343.34 The secretary may suspend operating privileges under this section under the following circumstances: 343.34(1) (1) Whenever the secretary is satisfied that a person has violated a restriction on the license and that it is in the interests of public safety to suspend the license, the secretary shall suspend such license for a period not exceeding one year unless the violation is cause for revocation. 343.34(2) (2) When a person has been convicted under s. 343.16 (7) (b) .
