304.12 When a convicted person is pardoned or the person’s sentence is commuted, or the person is remanded to prison for the violation of any of the conditions of that person’s pardon, the officer to whom the warrant is issued after executing it shall make return thereon to the governor forthwith and shall file with the clerk of the court in which the offender was convicted a certified copy of the warrant and return, and the clerk shall enter and file the same with the records of the case.
