As used in RCW 72.01.370 and 72.01.375 : "Escorted leave" means a leave of absence from a correctional facility under the continuous supervision of an escort. "Escort" means a correctional officer or other person approved by the superintendent or the superintendent's designee to accompany an inmate on a leave of absence and be in visual or auditory contact with the inmate at all times. "Nonviolent offender" means an inmate under confinement for an offense other than a violent offense defined by RCW 9.94A.030 .
