The intent of this chapter is to promote the public interest, support the availability of supplemental long-term care coverage, establish standards for supplemental long-term care coverage, facilitate public understanding and comparison of supplemental long-term care contract benefits, protect persons insured under supplemental long-term care insurance policies and certificates, protect applicants for supplemental long-term care policies from unfair or deceptive sales or enrollment practices, and provide for flexibility and innovation in the development of supplemental long-term care insurance coverage. Effective date — 2025 c 380 ss 17-39, 47, and 48: "Sections 17 through 39, 47, and 48 of this act take effect May 1, 2026." [ 2025 c 380 s 49 .]
