(a)The purpose of this section is to clarify that any records or information produced or acquired by a district that are trade secrets or confidential business information shall be exempt from public inspection and copying pursuant to 1 V.S.A. § 317(c)(9).
(b)For purposes of this section, “confidential business information” includes the operational records of any internet service provider under contract with a district for the construction of a broadband network or to provide broadband service, or both, as well as detailed information about the district’s deployment plans if public disclosure could put the district at a competitive disadvantage.
