The inhabitants of the Town of Plainfield as presently constituted and the inhabitants of the Village of Plainfield as constituted by 1867 Acts and Resolves No. 189, as amended by 1910 Acts and Resolves No. 314, 1913 Acts and Resolves No. 327, 1927 Acts and Resolves No. 174, 1933 Acts and Resolves No. 194, 1965 Acts and Resolves No. 227, and the vote of the Village of Plainfield at the annual meeting thereof held on May 3, 1976, except that part of the Village of Plainfield located in the Town of Marshfield, are hereby incorporated and continued to be incorporated and declared to be a body corporate and politic under the name of the Town of Plainfield; and under that name may sue and be sued, prosecute and defend in any court; may have a common seal and alter it at pleasure; may borrow mon
