A.If deemed appropriate by the individualized education program (IEP) team, which includes the parent, the IEP implemented for a public school student with a disability in accordance with the federal Individuals with Disabilities Education Act, 20 U.S.C. § 1400 et seq., with the exception of such students who have been placed in private day or residential school settings, may contain language addressing individualized accommodations and supports for the student during emergency situations and evacuations. In developing such language, IEP teams should be supported by the school administration. Additionally, for initial IEPs, the IEP team shall discuss whether or not the student requires such accommodations and supports.
