The chairman of the Board shall supervise the administrative work of the Board; receive, file, collate and classify the reports of the respective officers required to report to the Board; call meetings of the Board whenever any matters arise requiring its consideration or action; and have available for and lay before the Board all information necessary for the decision of questions coming before it. He shall conduct all correspondence with the various officers within the jurisdiction of the Board and institute and supervise investigations into the affairs and conduct of all such officers, as and when the Board may direct.
