§ 80-5-702 — Member qualifications -- Expenses.

(1)As used in this section, "member" means both a part-time member and a pro tempore member of the authority.
(2)(2)(a) Except as required by Subsection (2)(b), the governor, with the advice and consent of the Senate, shall appoint or reappoint members to four-year terms.
(2)(b) The governor shall, at the time of appointment or reappointment, adjust the length of terms to ensure that the terms of members are staggered so that approximately half of the authority is appointed every two years.
(3)A member shall have training or experience in social work, law, juvenile or criminal justice, or related behavioral sciences.
(4)When a vacancy occurs in the membership for any reason, the governor shall, with the advice and consent of the Senate, appoint a replacement for the unexpired term.
