§ 80-3-302 — Shelter hearing -- Placement of a child.

(1)As used in this section:
(1)(a) "Asserted an interest" means to communicate, verbally or in writing, to the division or the court, that the relative or friend is interested in becoming a placement for the child.
(1)(b) (1)(b)(i) "Parent" does not include an unmarried biological father, as defined in Section 81-13-101, who has not strictly complied with Sections 81-13-212 and 81-13-213 before the removal of the child or voluntary surrender of the child by the custodial parent.
(1)(b)(ii) "Parent" includes, except as provided in Subsection (1)(b)(i), an individual with a parent-child relationship to the child under Section 81-5-201 regardless of whether the child has been or will be placed with adoptive parents or whether adoption has been or will be considered as a long-term goal for th
