§ 78B-7-506 — Service of process.

(1)(1)(a) The county sheriff that receives an order from the court under Subsection 78B-7-504(6) or 78B-7-505(3) shall:
(1)(a)(i) provide expedited service for the sexual violence protective order; and
(1)(a)(ii) after the sexual violence protective order is served, transmit verification of service of process to the statewide network described in Section 78B-7-113.
(1)(b) This section does not prohibit another law enforcement agency from providing service of process if the law enforcement agency:
(1)(b)(i) has contact with the respondent; or
(1)(b)(ii) determines that, under the circumstances, providing service of process on the respondent is in the best interest of the petitioner.
