Text

(1)The Legislature finds that:
(1)(a) it is in the interest of the people of the state to improve the safety of existing dams;
(1)(b) mutual irrigation companies and water users associations cannot afford to bring dams into conformance with the state's current minimum safety standards without financial assistance from the state;
(1)(c) due to limited financial, physical, and human resources, it is necessary to establish priorities for the upgrade of dams; and
(1)(d) the state and its officers and employees are immune from suit for any injury or damage resulting from the exercise or performance or the failure to exercise or perform any function pursuant to this chapter.
