Text

The division has the following powers and duties:

(1)The division shall make rules, in accordance with Title 63G, Chapter 3, Utah Administrative Rulemaking Act, for the management of the Great Salt Lake that recognize the division's duty to manage public trust assets and balance the following public interest benefits and policies:
(1)(a) strategies to effectively and efficiently manage the Great Salt Lake based on the Great Salt Lake's fluctuating lake levels;
(1)(b) development of the Great Salt Lake that balances, in a manner that promotes a healthy physical and ecological condition:
(1)(b)(i) migratory and shorebirds habitats;
(1)(b)(ii) wetlands;
(1)(b)(iii) brines, minerals or elements, chemicals, and petro-chemicals;
(1)(b)(iv) brine shrimp;
(1)(b)(v) the protection of wildlife and
