Text
(1)The department shall create a drug abuse and trafficking unit within the department.
(2)The drug abuse and trafficking unit created in Subsection (1) shall:
(2)(a) develop and implement strategies to combat drug abuse and trafficking by:
(2)(a)(i) offenders within correctional facilities and under the department's supervision; and
(2)(a)(ii) individuals working directly with, or in connection with, offenders within correctional facilities or under the department's supervision; and
(2)(b) enhance collaboration and information sharing between the department and law enforcement agencies throughout the state to combat drug abuse and trafficking by the individuals listed in Subsections (2)(a)(i) and (ii).
