(1)(1)(a) With the approval of the governor, the executive director shall appoint the state archivist to serve as director of the state archives.
(1)(b) The state archivist shall be qualified by archival training, education, and experience.
(2)The state archivist is charged with:
(2)(a) the custody and permanent retention and preservation of:
(2)(a)(i) the enrolled copy of the original 1895 Utah Constitution;
(2)(a)(ii) Indian war records;
(2)(a)(iii) oaths of office of all state officials, including legislative officials, required under Article IV, Section 10 of the Utah Constitution to take an oath of office;
(2)(a)(iv) all other records, excluding legislative records described in Section 63A-12-102.5, kept by or deposited with the state archivist for permanent preservation as provide
