Text

(1)Utah taxable income shall be computed upon the basis of:
(1)(a) the same taxable period used for federal income tax purposes;
(1)(b) the corporation's annual accounting period if the corporation did not file a federal income tax return; or
(1)(c) the calendar year if the corporation has an annual accounting period other than a fiscal year, has no annual accounting period, or does not keep books, and does not file a federal income tax return.
(2)(2)(a) Utah taxable income shall be computed under the method of accounting on the basis of which the corporation computes:
(2)(a)(i) its income for federal income tax purposes; or
(2)(a)(ii) its income in keeping its books if the corporation did not file a federal income tax return.
