§ 54-4-37 — Definitions -- Unauthorized charge to account -- Penalties -- Procedures for verification -- Authority of commission and Division of Public Utilities.

Utah·Title 54 Public Utilities·Ch. 54-4 Authority of Commission Over Public Utilities
(1)For purposes of this section:
(1)(a) "Agents" includes any person representing a public utility for purposes of billing for a service or merchandise from a third-party supplier.
(1)(b) "Billing aggregator" means any person that:
(1)(b)(i) initiates charges;
(1)(b)(ii) combines or aggregates charges from third-party suppliers of services or merchandise; or
(1)(b)(iii) (1)(b)(iii)(A) creates bills for account holders; and
(1)(b)(iii)(B) passes these bills for the billing of account holders to:
(1)(b)(iii)(B)(I) another billing aggregator; or
(1)(b)(iii)(B)(II) a public utility.
(1)(c) (1)(c)(i) "Public utility" is as defined in Section 54-2-1.
(1)(c)(ii) "Public utility" does not include a telecommunications corporation providing only mobile wireless service or Internet access.
